No. I've got a very rare JVC integrated in my collection that's more than enough for me soundwise.

No good you looking at the AU-20000. You'll never get one at a sane price. If you could find one for sale anyway that is. :)

I owned a sansui 8080 receiver a few years back before the price of the vintage silver stuff went through the roof.
I paid 100 quid for mine about 1993...It was in great condition apart from a couple of blown bulbs and dirty controls.
bulletproof with tons of juice and in the dark....beautiful
the tuner section was the best I've owned and could pull in clean stereo signals over huge distances.

NIGE.

Haha no, I don't think I'd want one to be honest. Looks like the cockpit of a small plane lol.

I used to have a 9090, last amp i owned with tone controls ( bass, midrange, and treb). Great sounding beast, very full sound. Bought in mint 'con' from a tiny house clearance shop in Taunton 15 odd years ago for £12.00.

It was, still have the Manual in a draw some place.
After several years good use, it stopped working . Knowing nothing about electronics, i gave it to a mate who said he could fix it ( was handy with a solder iron etc). He gave it back, it played for 2 mins ,stopped working again. Back to him again, came back, same thing happened.
He came round and said best not for him to look at it again, and kindly gave me an Akai AM2650 amp for free.
To my shame and having had enough of the problems with the Sansui, i ended up taking it to the recycle centre ( know better these days).
On the plus side , i have been using the Akai amp for a few weeks now. Dug it out of the loft ( been there for a good few years), plugged it in, been having some fun with it. Rigged up to my FPS Speakers, and my turntable.

Hi Oliver, Yes! I have the AU 919 at the heart of my set up http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?43233-The-High-Power-High-Tower-at-Gong-Towers

Verdict ? It is without any doubt the best amp I've ever owned and will be my last. Super clean sound, powerful and detailed. As Sansui put it 'The sound is pure' that was their aim, pure hi-fidelity sound as in it doesn't have a sound. Sansui achieved the widest bandwidth ever with this amp - it just lets the music come through.

They have built some big beauties since the early 70's which get a lot of respect. The D11ii is said to be really good too.
You have to buy carefully though but that's another story. If you are serious about one let me know, there are certain things to know before shelling out ya spondoolies.
Cover those things off and you're laughing :)

Hi,

That's what I wanted to hear lol. I'm not sure if I have enough for a 919 but if there was some general pointers I could look out for I'd be grateful for your input. I am probably looking at a D9 on my budget and nothing is imminent. Just theoretical ATM
