I'm very intrested in the SONUS Zone Player 90 (ZP90) to connect to my existing hifi system as a FLAC media player sourced from the main computer, not really intrested in the associated wireless speaker system for other rooms but i'm not ruling this out as i see it being very handy for the wife while she's pottering about the house or in the spare room ironing!

The only issue i see is my earth net connection is the other side of the room from the hi-fi & don't wanna be laying wires to it.. I'm wondering if the SOUNS Bridge (BR100) connected to my pooter router would relay the signal over to the Zone player 90 (ZP90) which relays all the gubbins to the controller or am i confusing matters?

Anyone.

I see this as a possibility as i'm not too struck on the Squeezebox looks.

Hi Andre, no thats about right.

http://www.sonos.com/howitworks/setup/default.aspx

You will need either the bridge or a zone player connected to the router to create the Sonus network. It's good to see these guys have moved things on, I reviewd an early system ages ago for HFW and was really impressed by it. They've added more features, devices and also improved on the first controller which was a let down. I think you'll love it.

Hi
! That's the thing i will need both the bridge Zone & the ZP90 player, as i don't have connections to the stereo at the earth net point at my Computer modem! So will need something to transmitt up the the stereo!! or is this not possible. The web page isnt very clear. I think it's certainly better than the Logitech systems, shame about the white tho.

What is the maximum price you wish to invest Andre ? You need it only for music or for films as well ?

You will need, indeed a minumum of:
- a ZoneBridge (BR100)
- a ZonePlayer90 (ZP90)
- a ZoneController (100 or 200)
and, of course, an UPnP server (PC/MAC/NAS) with your music collection and HDs.

Anymore manufacturers of simular Dimitri?
You have Meridian (Sonoos) and Olive (http://www.olive.us/home.html)
and, of course, the usual Linns, PSAudios, Cambridge el al. :)

On the cheap side, there're plenty of media servers (for instance an HD mediabox 200 Audiophile Edition).
Some don't have wifi access, but you can use BPL connection through your power lines... ;)

I've only had a little hands on so far with the Sonos kit,but what you have mentioned will work. You could also use some Power Lines ( D-Link DHP-303 ) to take the network connection to the ZP90,without needing the Zonebridge.
And then the missus could have an S5,which she plugs into any room she likes for her music, you can then control the whole system with either a Sonos CR200 or an iPod Touch/Phone.
I would also stick in a NAS harddrive, saves your PC being on all the time just to stream some music.

I think people are getting the wrong idea.

Computer with media monkey, media player & outboard Hardrive...Wanting to beam these over wirelessly to the stereo to play.Remotes a bonus but not bothered.
