:D

It WORKS

Soldered the power lead back in , switched it on and waited for the relay click :eyebrows: " Click "

Switched it to phono stage and speakers A

And we have audio :)

But we also have an annoying HUM :( , Checked the earth and moved from one earth point to the other , It has 2 earth points

Looks like I need to find a sparky to give it a once over :)1793017931179321793317934

That should be really nice once you get it set up right Al.

A friend has one, set permanently to Class A. Doesn't run too hot this way and does sound great - I heard it at easter, so a fresh memory..

I was given a CA1000mk2 some years back that I sold originally when new. I was less impressed with the preamp section (so much internal wiring between all those sub-boards), but again, the Class A setting was sublime.

I emailed a service sheet to a good friend of mine who was / is a electronics engineer ( now retired ) he informs me that it should have a 3 core cable with a earth going to the chassis , The one that was shoved into the chassis is only 2 core , may cure the hum , I won't switch it o again until this is rectified :)

The selector is not switched to phono (MM/MC) if so it might buzz without anything connected.

Hi Rob

It was connected via the phono stage
