I am puzzled:scratch:. I have a Shek D1 NOS DAC which sounds great with my old Pioneer PD S-703:) but doesn`t work with my Micromega. When I plug it in via the coax socket all I get is an error message on the CDP display I have tried the prescribed method of opening the CD tray and pressing button 2 but all I get is an error message.

Has anyone got any ideas? I am going mad trying to figure it out:confused:

Cheers
Alan

Thats odd. I've had a couple DAC's into my Micromega all been fine! Which Micromega is it?

Perhaps the coax is too stiff on the digital output of the CDP ?

The Micromega Stage series weren't the most reliable.

And does it play OK without the DAC connected?

Stage 2

I never thought of that

And does it play OK without the DAC connected?

Yes

Thanks for the interest guys. It works fine without the DAC and the DAC works fine on the DAB radio. It`s very odd.

I must learn how to do quotes

Stage 2 has the same layout as the Stage 1 then just coax out...Do you have another digital player you can try the DAC into apart from the radio & pioneer?

No I only have the 2 CDP`s. Someone said that the Micromega is not compatible with the SPDIF receiver used in the Shek (CS8412-IS)

Andre

Your avatar is great. I have both the original vinyl of BSS with fold out (bought in the 70`s) and CD (bought recently)

Hi Alan

You can also split responses down into sections with some judicious cutting and pasting.

OOT, the number of people I know who don't like the Benchmark is ridiculously high... :(
