Here is a little video of the basic functions of the BR20.
I bought this machine a couple of years ago from the Bible society in the UK
I hadn't had much use but strangely had the Knobs missing?.
I have calibrated it and biased it for the Maxel XL1 tape

Thanks Ali, I was up in Paisley yesterday picking another one of these machines up, its a nice clean machine with low miles but it has a few faults so i will see if I can get it sorted.

Canny vid Alan. I could watch them reels spin all day and it sounded lovely, in spite of it being youtube.

Nice video

Thanks Al, Yeah even from smoggy is a canny drive and it chucked it down all the way there and back
Picking up is allways the safest way though as they weigh a ton and are easy damaged, I drove down to Brighton and back for a Revox PR99 last year
The same seller had a Teac X10 which only sold for about £90 so would have been a good buy

When I got this one home it was looking a bit grubby but has cleaned up very nice, heads are in great condition so it hasen't had that much use.
It didn't sound good though and had a buzz and the levels were all over the place, pluging and unplugging xlrs produced a load crack so there was some dropped ground somwhere.
The mains lead was damaged so I replaced that and earthed the case as I have done with all of my R2Rs.
The ground connection to the Input output board was loose as well which was responsible for the buzz so that's fixed now.
The stop button also didn't work so I stripped this down and found the connections dirty so I cleaned that with a fiber pen dipped in deoxit and that is also working fine now.
Think someone has had a go at calibrating this deck but the levels were all over
I reset all of the input / output levels, Reset the Reproduce levels with a MRL tape's for 7.5 & 15". the Azymuth was out for both Sync and Repro heads, I calibrated all the record levels for both speeds and Biased it for the Maxell XLI for 250 nWb/m.
Its sounding good now and all other functions work fine so another good deck
