Recently won another Tascam Br20:eyebrows:
This one is sold as spares or repair as there are parts missing but I think I have spares of all the parts required to getting it working again :) see how it turns out when it arrives?

Thanks Ali, lets see what I get could be just a load of spare parts
but that not such a bad thing as I have a few of these R2Rs and they will come in handy

IMHO the Tascam BR20 is the best value R2R player you can find today, they were the last R2R made they sound superb , have a lovely smooth tape transport electronic tape position tracking and need very little maintenance, should not need to be recapped as many others do and they can also be switched between NAB and IEC.
If you can get your mits on a good example of one of these recorders snap it up you wont be disappointed

Quite agree on the SPŁ Value with the BR20 considering the entry price these days into Studer Pro territory.

Well it arrived yesterday and is as described with parts missing, but besides that it lookes in very good condition
The heads look as though they have been changed and appear brand new with no wear :eyebrows:

I had all the parts that were missing from my playback only machine which I use for spare parts now

well I put a tape on it and it plays perfectly, looks in good calibration, and all electronc functions work fine, the only fault I can find is a slight scraping noise from the right hand brake, think the bracket may be a bit twisted from where the reel table had been bent, should be easy enough to fix but had no time to do it.
Anyway its a result and should be a good R2R :);)
