Haven't done this before. These are photos I've previously used as email attachments. I haven't resized them for this post - and the photography is very amateurish. Please be gentle.

Here we go:

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx313/kendrewjb/TributeValveAmp.jpg
http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx313/kendrewjb/DacMagicwithFlash.jpg
http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx313/kendrewjb/RightSide.jpg
http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx313/kendrewjb/RightSpeakersCovered.jpg

This has not gone well for me. I've done two edits trying to get clickable thumbnails so each pic can be opened within the post - like freefallrob's excellent job.
Help!

Good lord..... I trust you're single?????

There's some great stuff in there, but the BEE GEES??????? That Nak amp wasn't too bad at the time either and let it all hang out more than the Audiolab 800A I remember.

Don't worry though, my wife has a copy of that LP, but it lives in the loft :D

Very nice kit there. I can see why you are protective of it (camera corner top left first pic?)

:)

"Single" for the last 15 years - it shows doesn't it?
As a concession to my son, we display his sci-fi stuff, gadgets, medieval accoutrements etc., all over.
Things were in a little disarray when the photos were taken and there is no urgency.
As for the BEE GEES (I knew I should have hidden that), I was conducting some tube rolling at the time and there's a couple of tracks which are useful for determining instrument separation and definition, and comparisons between the 1979 recording and the Diana Krall "audiophile recording" (so called).
Actually I don't mind the BEE GEES; their DVD "One Night Only" is very enjoyable.
Pleased you like the Nak. It beats the pants off a combo Classé Six pre & ME 850 main I had a few years ago.

I've got the Bee Gees 4 cd box set "Tales from the Brothers Gibb 1967 - 1990" - and I'm proud of it! If all you think of is falseto & "Stayin' Alive" "Night Fever" etc, then you've missed some very well crafted and performed (not to mention influencial) music - IMHO of course!

Anyway, nice setup Kendrew!

I bet there's lots of closet fans out there.

I fell in love with Tannoys when I was a kid and it's a wonder to me how slowly I've realized it's an obsession. We use DU386s as mains in the AV room.
The Nottingham is the "blackest" tt I've heard and the arm suits the Rondo Bronze extremely well - I'm seriously considering the Kontrapunkt B or C.

I'm not sure what you mean. Earle Weston (Weston Acoustics - he has a blog) designs and builds his range of valve amps from scratch. He winds his own transformers; heavily specced.

Always had a fond spot for Dr. WHO and the Daleks. My son is building a "TARDIS" hard-drive enclosure.

Ah I see.It was the Tribute name that threw me.Tribute are a company that make some of the best transformers in the world for valve amps.I thought they'd branched into making amps too.

That's a great boys cave, very jealous indeed!

P.s I hadn't noticed the Bee Gees, I was to busy looking at the one in front ;).

Yes, Rob, it's a comfortable retreat.
Here's a very rough shot of the front of our AV room I took a few months ago (for email thumbnail). Sorry about the quality.
The mains are DU 386s - and yes - there are actually TWO subs as well. I set the Tannoys to "small" to guard them from the explosive effects of action spectaculars. As would be expected, the midrange and upper frequencies benefit substantially.
There's been a couple of changes since - I'll update later with more.
It could be quite thought of as a cave.
The carpet was supposed to suggest the atmosphere of the old style cinema - but it didn't work for some of our purist friends. Still, it's a topic of discussion now and again. And it looks better when the lights are dimmed (or OFF, some say;)).
