I have just noticed that I am now a Senior Member.
I know no one yet and no one knows me so my suggestion is that the grading should be altered.
Surely a senior member is some one who has been in the club for say 1 year?
Or someone who has made 1000 posts?
I think I should be a Junior Member, or Apprentice member at present and Senior Member should be something I aspire to.
What does everyone else think?

I think it makes very little difference.

Yet according to the current system I am your equal?!
You have 3 years membership and nearly 2000 posts, yet you have no seniority over me.
Does that not strike you as a tad unfair?

There's no inequality here, we're all music lovers.

By the way Box what is your real name? We like to go by christian names to keep the friendly ethos.

Most high-number posters are there by virtue of multiple contributions to the 'Three Words Daily' thread, of which the less said, the better.

We had a teacher whose nickname was 'Box', because his surname was 'Carton'. I doubt whether this Box is that Box though.

The Mod team already asked about this and this members name is Box, and despite the unusual name and using blue font I for one am enjoying Box's contribution to the forum.

Box its a quirk of the forum software and while I know some forums tweak things to reflect such to be honest I don't think thousands of posts or only 2 makes anyone any more valuable, than another, its about passion, experience and friendly exchange and not posting numbers in my opinion.

Anyway once again Welcome to AoS senior member

Not at all.
It does not bother me one bit. In my opinion, all people are equal when contributing to a forum.

The present situation has worked without bother for years. Why change it?

Quite so. It seems strange to me that someone who has only just joined us should feel free to suggest changes. This implies criticism of something that has been working quite happily for ages. To start a poll seems well out of order.

I don't think there's any harm in this Gordon. I feel everybody has the right to ideas and to question things in a civil manner. But I as I say, I don't see a need for change.

I do understand the point that Box is making though, however I find it a bit like marriage, we all pull together and share our opinions (is that really like marriage) so that we all benefit from the collective.

there are more important things to concern oneself about. So many requirements for example.

Enjoy AoS.

Very kind. Thank you
I know I can be quite opinionated, but there again so can many on here.
I am enjoying the threads very much.

Just 'joining in' surely - seems fine to me and perfectly in order.
