The new Miss England (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/femail/article.html?in_article_id=554870&in_page_id=1879)?

Some of the other contestants (http://www.missengland.info/miss-en-2008.html)

The national average for women is now dress size 16 apparently. Should Englands Miss World contestant reflect the reality of England's love affair with junk food?

Typical standard of Daily Mail journalism.:steam: One day they will attack fashion models for encouraging anorexia, the next they attack a slightly overweight beauty contest entrant for encouraging obesity!
By the way B.M.I. is virtually useless as a guide to either fitness or fat levels.

Yeah, but ignoring the DM's usual rant and the million ways to misinterpret BMI, what do you think to the question posed?

Should we hold our hands up and say "England's women are getting bigger, so our ideas of what is acceptable in a beauty pageant should also be revised"?

Discuss...:)

Ummm, she is petite by many U.S. standards.

Thanks Mcdonalds

The Miss England girl is very pretty, but her figure is not a healthy one. I don't mind curvy girls but she is simply overweight. She must look very odd compared to the models from the other countries, this surely is simply another case of 'What the feck is England doing now?!' in the eyes of other nations.

Odd choice.

Yes, thank you for that. It is a pleasant change to have the Hairy Eyeball of the world shifted away from the USA (even if only for a few minutes).

Reminds me of the 'classic' chat-up line: "Hey doll, you don't sweat much for a fat bird!"

Hehe...you'd have loved it matey! There's nothing to beat watching some hairy 'man-girls' at a party competing to see who can 'sew' the most plats in their bikini line, or making sandcastles from neat piles of 'Daniel Rough' formed on the shoes of pissed, knickerless, slapper-ettes, or perhaps watching them perm their armpit hair into neat tufts and draining off the slippery globules of salty sweat with their tongues!

That's what you call a good night out!! :eyebrows:

I hope you've had your dinner ;)

Marco.

I've been to Thailand, but they certainly weren't hairy!

Thankfully yes. :)
