Appears to have worked?

First one I built that's now in France.
Second a bit of a hotch poch but aurio bearings under the stainless columns and it sounds ok, well my mate that bought it thinks so, that's it next to his other deck:-)
Third one went to Singapore, no photos but a Senior Producer for radio Scotland thought my Linn sounded brilliant till I pointed out it was the Lenco playing!

Hi Ali,

I'm just along the road in Burntisland if you fancy a listen sometime thru the big Horns.
The latest one has me gobsmacked even with an old Goldring Elite thru a cheap phonobox.
Strangely the only thing I changed from my ' good one' was the material of the armboard,
not due to any science, only cause it was the only material I had lying around.
Plastic 'aerolam'style bathroom flooring as opposed to a bit of kitchen splashback ?
Strange things these record players:-)

Aye you're right there!

Yes, a listen sometime would be great, I'll give you a shout?

Can return the favour if you'd like a listen to a 401 with some active OB's sometime?

You need to join the Scottish Mafia! :D

Sounds good Ali, always up for a listen to other peoples gear, preferably kind of homebrewed as opposed
to stuff costing silly money from our local peddlers of insanity:-)
Will drop you a pm with my phone nos.

Have a good weekend!

Cheers

Hi Simon,
Just had a friends Lenco GL75 at my house today to check it out. He was given it by his next door neighbour as he was clearing out his garage! Fancy chucking an original Goldring Lenco GL75 out. It still has a shure m44 cartridge attached.

Anyway I hooked it up to my Croft amps after setting up the arm and sorting out the stylus tracking force. It started up like a dream and I played a Sinatra record to hear what it could do- not bad at all. Still got its captive RCA plugs and earth lead.
The lid hinges were knackered but everything else seemed fine - very heavy little Turntable also in its original wooden plinth.
I think my mate wants to sell it so probably pop it on here sometime
