Hi Gav,

Welcome :)

Please list your system and tell us a bit about your hi-fi history.

Where did you hear about us?

Enjoy the forum!

Marco.

I've known Gav for over 20 years. He was the guy who got me into hi-fi in the first place ten years ago when I was living in Kettering myself. I told him about The Art of Sound this evening as he's just bought a Technics SL1200 deck.

Gav,

If you need any advice, mate, on getting the best from your SL-1200 let me know :)

Hi guys,

My system isnt much really.

Steve is a little wide of the mark with the turntable it is, in fact, a SL1700.

I also have a Sony SACD XB-940, Kenwood KA 3020 Special Edition Amp, Mission 761i Speakers, I wont bother listing interconnects and cables etc. It keeps me happy :-)

As Steve said I was responsible for introducing him to Hi-Fi in the first place, but almost from day one he took it much further than me.

Any advice on improvements that maybe made to the turntable would be more than welcome. Thinking about getting a Cambridge P640 for it next.

Cheers

Answering a few specific questions is much quicker to do than writing an in-depth review of a product ;)

I will add that I know Gav's Sony was the first CD player below a grand to offer SACD. I also know that it plays red book a lot better than it should at its price point (£550 iirc)
