Well after waiting 6 weeks for my tonearm to arrive, I calibrate the bloody thing, switch on the 301, AND NOTHING! :steam:

After a quick check of the mains lead, everything was ok, I opened up little bakelite box where the power and spark supressor should go to find a floating wire.

So the left picture is what confronted me when I opened the area where the power lead should be fitted. The middle picture shows that the solder has come away from somewhere. The right picture shows the lead coming from the spark supressor. Now the $64000 question, where does the floating spark supressor lead need soldering? Man I is pissed off.

Thanks for reading this sorrowful tale

Andy

Nothing like a thread that opens and closes in two posts and no othe responses!

I might re-solder the other joins to be honest - they look a bit blobby and dry.

Well that's how threads sometimes work;) I found some help with Dom at NWA, the 301 is fixed and working again.
