I have been damn ill, and so recently we moved home from a large show off tory detached acreage to a smaller victorian semi also in leafy guildford, so the listening area is in a spare room of 12x12....and the kit is still being plugged in, tweaked (ie, ensuring all my books have odd pages folded inwards at 33.3 degrees and I only drink pure grain alcohol and rainwater before a listening session...it helps my golden, er, cloth ears to hear music that isnt on the disc!!) and polished....

the current in use TT:

the mick gray ultra mechanic with modified decca

the mission mechanic special edition (special as not a Linn or Rega) with ESCOd denon dl103r

IT's ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's got a good turntable too ;)

Ello BM, you too can give me tons of grief over my comments on ellpee's and ceedee's. There's even a poster with ZEIT as his avatar :gig:

I dare not post pics of my current setup as Marco will faint with the audacity of it all, but it's great on the TeeDee LP's I found (and pretty damned good on the CD's as well, but we don't go there )

Good to see you on here guv! Hope you're recovering with no long term effects and that the house move wasn't too traumatic.

Look forward to some very interesting exchanges in the future ;)

DECCA'S ROOL! (Oh all right, so do Denon 103's ;))

Hope this doesn't mean that you are going to start WW3!

and not a glowing bottle in sight - yet ;)

At least the CD player has your favourite Philips DAC chips inside and the output I use is transformer coupled.

dave that 2p piece under the wonderful CDP needs to be reversed, it will make (made) the sound much better, awesome and vinyl like;)

Dave,

I think we need a system pics thread on its own of your gear, with a nice room shot included :)

The Crowns actually look 'interesting'.

I may just do that, although what you guys want with a valve/sand hybrid amp and ancient BBC legacy speakers (the BC2 driver was used in at least one BBC monitor in the eighties I understand).

Oh yeah, the turntable's direct driven too :D

I look forward to it - EVERY system is interesting in its own individual way. I like seeing the results over other people's 'hi-fi journey' :)

Marco.
