Has your laptop got Bluetooth? I am waiting for a BT wireless link to arrive in the post. So BT connection to the BM might be an option.

hi grant..nice suggestion however its a minefield out there with hundreds of different adapters/connectors available I was hoping there may be a lead usb/toslink available or just a simple small converter that requires no power.i really do not want something that could add or take away the sound of the bushmaster..

That's a nice bit of kit for the price. I might get one to try out myself.

I have been playing with the Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth to digital coax adapter lately. It gives me the option to stream music via Bluetooth from my laptop to the BM. The Bluetooth adapter runs off the USB socket on the Ankara battery. It comes with a suitable USB to DC plug adapter, so I didn't have to make up any leads.
Transfer rate is limited to 16Bit/48kHz, which is the same as the Airport Express. But as a low cost Bluetooth solution it is not bad at all.

I have this usb to digital convertor, good things about this is, it has two simultaneous optical and coax output. I find the quality to be pretty good ( I am no expert in hi fi sound quality). It sounds great when partnered with the Bushmaster Mk I.

Give this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gustard-U10-Native-32bit-384k-USB-to-Spdif-Converter-0-1ppm-TCXO-XMOS-Inside-/291030336339?pt=US_Sound_Card_External&hash=item43c2c28353)a glance
Have one meself, and it's a great performer.

By the way, Stan, the Airport Express is fixed at 16bit/44.1Khz, as the Apple TV is fixed at 16bit/48Khz.

I have that same USB/SPDIF converter and it's superb, feeding my BM Mk1. It supports ASIO, which to my ears results in much better sound than WASAPI etc. Even if it cost three or four times as much I would still recommend it.

can anyone recommend a cheap bluetooth dongle/receiver that converts to optical or co-ax to feed the BM2. Would it plug and play into a dell lap top?

It looks pretty good...how do you rate it sonically?

Most of the time I buy or borrow these things just to try them out and post a comment on the forum. I don't always spend much time on judging the sonic capabilities to the bone.
If you want to give mine a try before you invest in one, just send me a PM. I am not using it at the moment whilst I try to dismantle my music laptop and clean the internal fan. Got bogged down by a screw that won't come out.

Thanks stan,
Very generous offer, would rather explore this avenue with Santas help. I run a long USB cable from the lap top -v link-optical. If blue tooth option works OK I might try it as a more user friendly alternative and access its sonic abilities compared to the hard wired set up. Just need reassurance the dongle/receiver is feasible? I intend to power it from a apple/kindle USB plug charger.....everything else is off the grid so if its promising battery power will follow.

I personally find it more than adequate with only one exception of not handling sampling rate of 192k

cheers chris thanks for the info not to fussed about the sampling rate...new year new present methinks:interesting:

This might be the solution i'm looking for, i got my Bushmaster MK2 yesterday and the SPDIF out on my so-called 'high end' Asus Maximus IV motherboard won't output a signal to the Bushmaster.
