The next time anyone says your system is OTT, you might want to show them this

I can't even begin to imagine what that would sound like.....OTT. I have seen picture of Japanese audiophiles building horns into their rooms but not like that. Many years ago I think some hi-fi guys might build horns into the corners of their rooms, but nothing like that.

Talking of 'big horns'! :eyebrows:

Not to mention some pretty wacky valve amps.

Bass horns right behind the TT? Not ideal I'd have thought.Amazing set up though. Those Electronluv amps are awesome!

I bet he sits there with a 'right royal horn' rather smugly looking at it, too! :eyebrows:

I think I have seen this set up on 6 moons...I think the editor of 6 moons knows this guy....and has evaluated gear in his set up. Amazing the lengths and money some will spend to get their audio nirvana.

Some how I don't think my wife would permit that kind of structural mod to the house. Anyone ever heard anything like this ? If so whats it like ? Are all the colourations I have heard before with horns gone ?

Now that's what I call hifi! Guess we are all amateurs by comparison. Wonder if the chap had a symphony composed especially for his ginormous and quirky set-up?

Have always cherished the thought of building speakers (I.B., not horns) into outside walls but real world housing requirements in the U.K. do mitigate against this, rather!

Shared a maisonette in Britsh West Hampstead in the mid sixties with a chap who DID build a form of horn speaker ONTO his bedroom wall (and it was a rented maisonette!). It was a parasomething design, using a very small speaker chassis to very good effect (for then). Run by a Rogers Cadet amp. or similar.

Audio life was very simple AND d.i.y. then; not a lot of choice and very few wild expectations in the early years of stereo.

Funny I can remember it.....maybe I wasn't there!!!!

Electron Luv make some seriously sexy looking amplifiers, with an eye on quality as well as style it would seem. Too many valve amps end up looking like King Midas' jewellery box...

Stylish in a kind of "Flash Gordon" stylee....

Yes I love these amps.Very Star Trek! Serious circuits and serious sound from what I've read.Astronomical prices though.

Reminds me of some Zappa lyrics

"This is exciting
I never plooked
A tiny chrome-plated machine
That looks like a magical pig
With marital aids stuck all over it
Such as yourself before"

Hehe - Joes Garage!...love that album..

A Latent Appliance Fetishist is a person who refuses to admit to his or herself
That sexual gratification can only be achieved through the use of MACHINES...
Get the picture?

Anyway, I am willing to bet they cost a bloody packet, but then they are a work of art as well as an amplifier. As mentioned, not sure about putting a TT in front of the horn mouths, but then the actual presure may be low due to the area involved...
