I have a query regarding electrical interference between components.
Do to the physical rack limitations of my present entertainment system cabinet, I have a Monster Power Conditioner sitting directing on top of my AV receiver. All of my components (8 units) are interfaced with this conditioner. Common sense dictates that I should isolate these two components from each other, but what material to utilize and at what thickness to provide adequate electrical isolation.

I have checked for heat build up with an infrared thermometer with negligable increase in thermal heat retention on the AV receiver top cover.

Terry, you may want to check out the discussion on this thread about RF / EM interference... http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1704 - check Page 2...

Mu-metal is a rather expensive but very effective material for suppressing radio frequency or electromagnetic interference. A sheet of aluminum will also work and is cheaper.

Others may have alternatives that are worth trying!
