I'm not in the market as such. But my local store has a pair of these up for £300 each which seems very good value and a possible investment (for when mine eventually dies).
They also have the cdp2 pre/cd thingy for £550
they're all new and boxed btw
Any views on any of these products?

Just to say quickly that the 77 mono's weren't bad at all. Sweet toned yet with a "push" that the standard stereo amp doesn't have.
To be honest, I'd try to find a good 909 when the time is ripe, as it would be easier to sell on if necessary.

I'm sorry but this thread's just going to have to stay... but only 'cos I had a good chuckle at the greenhouse vs power amp dilemma! I'm sure there's many here who feel for your predicament :)

Thanks for that Nick.
the amps would have been a better choice to drive the speakers I own but my purchase is definately more transparent.

... ka-boom-ching ;)
Be sure to use Transparent interconnects which hopefully don't draw a veil over the proceedings..

well, i popped in to the store today for a mooch.
long story short - he can get me a new 909 in silver for £499 (1k if it's black )
I still don't need a power amp and my idea would be to buy to sell. obviously if it fails to sell i'm left with it - so is it something you'd imagine i could live with?
come on guys - is this a no brainer?
