Hi,

Anyone know anything abov these? Just bought a shagged-out pair. I was curious about the electrostatic tweeter and then read they were active. 50w and 8w amp in them. Think they might be motional feedback.

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Hi,

If it's of any interest to anyone, this is what a pair of Sony SA-EX100s look like. The other photo is the Castle Lincolns. Still can't figure out where they came in the range. They're similar size to Richmonds but rated at 75 w with the Richmonds being 25w. The crossover is more complex and looks to be better quality.

Are you sure they're Lincolns? I could be wrong but they look like Pembrokes to me.

Hi Chris,

According to the backplates they are "Lincolns". But like I said I've never heard of them. Totally forgot about the Pembrokes. Never seen any.

Kind Regards,
Stephen

Ah well, if it says Lincoln then I was right (.......that I was wrong!)!
Taking another look at your picture, perhaps they're not quite as tall as my Pembrokes were.

Just had the tape measure out. They're roughly 17 1/4 x 9 x 10.

Rather spookily & completely coincidentally, I've just stumbled across an advert for a pair of Richmonds & other goodies (http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/vintage-hi-fi-system-rogers-ravensbourne-and-castle-acoustics/105306046) which gives the dimensions as H415 x W230 x D250 mm which would be 17 3/4 x 9 1/2 x 10 (..ish).

Thanks for that Chris. Totally forgot about Castle's heritage. I do have a MK II pair of Richmonds which I had for 20 years before the surrounds went. Not sure why they went from rubber to foam and then back to rubber again. The MK IIs also had the port moved above the mid/bass driver next to the tweeter.

Kind Regards,
Stephen
