Looking to set up a decent sounding system in our two berth caravan.
Currently it has a crappy old car radio/cd player and speakers, also crapola.
Main source apart from radio would be my iPhone.
Anyone had any experience of this sort of thing eg suitable small speakers.

I have no idea on the power source in your caravan but I presume you could run something like one of the small T-amps, a set of small high sensetivity speakers and an iPod and end up with some farly decent sounds. All for just a couple of hundred quid too and easy to sell on if you didn't like it.

something like a B&W Zeppelin / Arcam R-Dock would be nice.

I think it's just the speakers I need to sort

Are you restricted to a 12V DC power system?

Most definitely. We don't do sites with mains hookups.
Source will be iPhone and an Avtec tv which is also a cd/DVD free view etc so it takes care of radio as well.
I think one of those little t amps will do so it's just speakers I need to sort

Try some Mission 780SE, they are not very big, but they should go more than loud enough in a caravan with a Mini-T :) They'll also do some surprisingly deep bass as long as you aren't asking them to go louder than the Mini-T could manage..

You should be able to find a pair on ebay for a good price, bear in mind that they were £300 a pair back in the day when new ;)

Thanks for that, just looked them up and theyre a bit too big.
I think its going to have to be something like the jbl control 1,thats about the biggest i can fit.

I don't know the JBLs, the only other surprising speaker I know for the size is the MK1 Wharfedale Diamond.

Good hunting, whatever you get :)

Genexxa LX5 Pro
I keep suggesting these to folks - they're phenomenal small speakers. £70-ish & commonly found on you know where.
Teeny tiny aluminium alloy cabinet & a wacky figure of 8 foil tweeter.

I remember those now I've done a little search .
Just pulled the trigger on some of the little JBL from Amazon,£50 new.

I'm in the caravan listening to cohen through a cheap ta2020,
the speakers are vintage wharfedale super 10's on a baffle board between the seats under the table, you would not know they where there..
wharfedale super 10's and 8's can be picked up quite cheaply and dont sound bad at all, 1 or 2 watts would be enough for them

nothing like the home system.. but plenty good enough for the caravan

Just because your in a van doesn't mean you have to put up with crap does it.
After reading about the t amps on here I think that will be the next purchase.
Thanks for the input.:)
