Hi

bugger what tool can be used to get the cover of this amplifier. like allen key but not if you know what i mean. i done one of the terminals up to tight and its come lose :doh:

Probably a Torx. They come in various sizes.

That looks like a hex but difficult to tell for sure as the shot is too far away from the head Dan

Dave was right it, is a torx. Possibly wrong sized bit?

and if your having difficulty gripping , it may be your torx "key" may be worn (could also be tho torx nut) try filing the tip , this will let the torx "key" use a piece that will be unworn , if its the nut you will have to try a flat bladed screwdiver which fits snuggly in the grooves and gently turn it out

Looking at the photo again, is that a small dimple ponting up in the middle of the socket?
If so that is a security torx

had another look , you are of course correct , missed the dimple :rolleyes: sorry dan , have you any repair / engineer shops near you ? , they should have a set to crack it open for you

Either that or if you can get a flat screwdriver jammed in tight with the security pin behind it, you may just get it started.:scratch:
If you have an old suitable screwdriver that can be filed/ground down for a tight fit maybe?;)

Pop down to your local screw-fix,they sell a security torx bit set for about a fiver or so.
