Get a load of HIS DIY PROJECT. (http://diyaudioprojects.com/Phono/DIY-Turntable/). That's one of the best piece of transformation I have ever seen.

Is that unique, to have a magnetically suspended tone arm like that?

Very nice work. To be honest, I prefer the SP10 plinth aesthetically.

OMG ... all that innovative thought and careful work and he attaches an Ortofon Samba to it.
I mean, OK, it's not a bad cart, but ....

Fit and finish of the plinth looks very poor, seen much better work from AOS members.....

Interesting 701 platter as well. certainly kosher, mine has a slight taper on the outer edge. The motor is very lightly torqued and servo'd in the 701 and not best suited to 2+gramme trackers..

Its the thought and effort thats gone into it that counts, thats why i realy do think that he would find here a good place to be.

So he put a motor into a wooden laminated plinth like a million other transplants and he has a Schroeder clone for a tonearm. It's ok work but nowt special technically or in terms of fit and finish. The resident Dutch diy guy here does waaaaay better.

I can't knock this guy at all. If someone has that much gumption to do something, with vinyl replay nonetheless, more power to him. All I can say is, "Carry on, my brother." Honing one's skills only comes by doing.

He does way better than commercial manufacturers.
