Been playing with the ebay bought yamaha kx-580 se....made some nice sharp recordings on new tape sa90....now Ive got quite a few old sa90s with stuff on them I no longer want,so Ive decided to record over them.....question is.....do I erase them first? or just record over the old stuff?
I havent got and dont really want to buy any kind of eraser,so it will be in the machine....any thoughts?

Just record over them - you'll be fine!

If the cassettes have not been used for many years, might be worth fast winding, then rewinding them before recording. Just makes sure that tape is not binding, and may save a tangled cassette.

If they haven't been played foa a while & you aren't sure how well they are spooled I'd fast forward & rewind each of them before recording over them as Nick suggested ;)
