Well done Paul!

You are now officially an old man, or rather a 'Senior Member'. You are now entitled to a free bus pass and allowed to listen to Celine Dion records (as long as you keep it quiet).

When you reach 10,000 posts (estimated date AD 2,209), you will be allowed to rant and rave, and go on about how things went down-hill since the '70s, and how electricity from renewable sources doesn't sound as good as that produced from fossil fuels or nuclear sources. :wheniwasaboy:

It would be interesting to get a word count ...
I still have more posts on here than I have on my own forum you know ...
Although I have been a member here for more than twice as long and the 5585 I have racked up on my place in a year and a half is pretty worrying!

Yep - that's right - and Paul joined September 2009 - a month later in my book. ;)

'Garrulous' - good word that, Barry. I shall task myself with using it at work tomorrow :)

Might I suggest: 'sesquipedalian'; 'Sysyphian'; 'supererogatory'; 'nugatory' and 'concatination'. That'll sort out the men from the boys: see who later looks up those words in a dictionary.

When I used to write research reports for work, in order to be assured that all those on the distribution list would have read the report, I would deliberately incorporate unusual (but pertinant) words in the text. I knew if all had read my report, because they would come back to me asking "what does this word mean?". :eyebrows:

concatination

It's 'concatenation'. I use it a lot, usually to furrowed brows.

Floccinaucinihilipilification... I do that a lot!

I could say "Flocci non facio" ("I don't give a straw (or whisp)", or in other words "I don't give a toss"), in response to this contrived Etonian neologism, but that would be mean-spirited of me!

Clamed to be the longest, non-technical, word in the English language, it makes a great tongue-twister. :)

It sounds more like it stands for 'thy shalt not go flaccid'! :eyebrows: :eyebrows:
