I decided that I wanted a record clamp for my Source TT. I am under no illusion about it improving sound quality - just wanted something that would enhance the look of the deck, totally self-indulgently.

I wanted a clamp with a gold finish to match the Source's platter but found them very hard to find and it's amazing what some people will charge for a clamp.

Anyway, I came across the Bren1 record clamp made in the States -

I have to say that the finish is absolutely first class and also very good value compared to others, at $80 delivered to UK. Service was very friendly, and it only took a week to get here too, so credit where credit is due.

Here's a stock photo of the clamp -

I see the manufacturer is trying to patent the idea of putting a chamfer on the edge of the hole that the record spindle fits into - best of luck to them on that one!

Nicely turned and finished though :).

If it's to match a Source platter why not buy a polished Brass clamp?
