Hi


is this amplifier any good i can buy one for £90. it was quite expensive new the sum of £600 is it worth a punt?

Definitely worth a punt. The MF kit of yesteryear is really good value in sound for pound terms - especially for 90 quid. If by some chance you don't gel with it, the badge on the front means you can shift it on pretty quick too.

Getting it delivered tommorow the romote will come in handy ive got a choce to use the wharfedale diamond v's or B&W DM2 SII

That's a possibility Dan, a nice amp and a steal at 90 quid. Just wanted you to be aware of the potential issues that can crop up with these amps. Thankfully there is some good advice on the linked page should anything untoward rear its ugly head ;)

it never goes extream loud i bearly have it on 2 because i live in a small flat. this amplifier was looked after by its previous owner i have the original recipt for it aswell. i do like this amplifier very much.

They are very musical and as a bonus they look real nice too :D

As and when you can, it'd be worth checking the caps out as in the link earlier, they appear to be run to their limits. At the time, we found them difficult to sell as most punters wanted dependable old Arcam and Cyrus instead. Doesn't mean in the slightest the MF products were inferior though.

Re service charges - This industry is still contracting, prices of bespoke stuff is going through the roof as quantities sold are falling and it may well be that service charges are rising to try to offset some of this...

Hi

I have looked inside the amplifier and it is mint inside.
It should be fine because i only run it for like 3 to 6 hours a week.
