While trying to type a fairly long response on one of the threads, I'm being logged off so when I press the submit button I have to log back on again.

Not too bad as it kept my post so I didn't have to type it all in again but it is a little annoying. Is this a setting somewhere ?

Hi Griffo,

PM Rob (Filterlab) - he's our resident software expert and should know what's going on :)

Marco.

Griffo, what browser are you running?

In the meantime, before you click 'submit', copy the whole post so that if you have to log in again you can simply paste the post back in again. :)

Rob, using IE from within XP.

I had copied the the post in to the paste buffer anyhow as I've had problems in other forums. It made me log in again but it actually had submitted my post so I didn't lose it. I seem to get logged off here when there is no actual activity, and it's a very short time as well < 5 mins it seems to be.

Mmm, odd one. Which version of IE - 6 or 7?

I think your browser may be picking up the Inactivity Based Cookie system even though I've deactivated it in favour of Automated Database Marking. I've increased the inactivity limit from 900 seconds to 347 days so if your browser is nabbing the data it won't log you out until just under a year. If that doesn't help then let me know your browser's current cookie settings and we can go from there.

First simple steps though are emptying your cache and deleting your cookies.

I also have loggoff problem and this not helping. My system is Vista with IE8 and cookie settings are in the picture.
Any other suggestions?

How long are you getting before you're forced to log in again, Gints?

not sure, I will test it later, but that is more than 10 min.

It is happening somewhere around 14-15 min.

Can I just check you're ticking the 'Remember Me' box? The 15 minute timeout shouldn't boot you off, just remove you from 'Who's Online Now' if you've not done anything in the meantime.

No, I do not. Should I tick that box? I think that box mean, that I do not log in again when web browser is closed and opened later, isn't it?

You should - it'll make sure you're automatically logged back in whenever you hit the forum... and it should resolve the 15 minute timeout thing for you.

yes, that working, but... it will also enable great posibility to clear up for things what you never wrote as well :)
Does it never happens with you (people who sharing one computer with family or friends)? Make sure that you are logged off before closing browser.

You're right that if you share a computer with familiy or friends and more than once of you uses Art Of Sound, you'll need to log out and back in with the right user before posting. But you only need to worry about this if you all want to post on AOS!

I meant that somebody can play a joke with you. It is happened with me once and I learn a lesson never leave yourself somewhere logged in while you are away :)

Aha! So when there are bunch of rude posts all done within 5 minutes and apparently under your Username we'll know what's going on ;) !!
