Hi

I have a Sugden A21a. It's absolutely smashing, much better than the biamped Arcam setup I had before. But I have itchy feet.

Opinions please on merits of selling the Suggy and a) getting a couple of those bantam monos, or b) putting a toe in the valve waters with that new amp the chap here is making.

Yes I know all the caveats about listening etc... but I'd value some thoughts.

The rest of the system is a touch, modded caiman as pre, Spendor SA1 and a REL sub. The sub runs off the speaker feed, but I could get it to work with monos I think, yes?)

I think either be be good I would tend to edge for the valve amp myself it seems really well made, but the mono blocks might aesthetically suite your system better

I'd say you need to have a listen to some valve amps and see if they are for you.

Thanks guys. Yeah I know I can't circumvent the process - got to make the opportunity to hear the valves. Might see if I can negotiate a home demo...
